wrong. it is based on a Game. the original author is Ninomae Hajime author of the LN series 'Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica'. the script/screenwriter is Gotou Midori. he worked on Seasons 1 and 2 of 'Hoozuki no Reitetsu' amongst other anime titles.

the only connection this show has to Re: ZERO is its character designer Ootsuka Shinichirou. he is the LN artist and anime character designer for the whole Re: ZERO franchise.

And to think I was this close on missing out on this anime, but I passed it by chance and saw the studios and knew I would not dissapoint.

Wasnt sure, just reading comments and end of the first episode. I dont mind it going dark but I hate some anime that start fluffy fun then halfway turn into like, murder game show setting or whatever.

Well... at first look it seem to be just a cute girls doing cute things... but so it was Faa until she killed Kotone,so anything is possible.

At least we did get warning.
But more than anything, it was absolutely 'what the actual hell is that supposed to be?'

So the last part of the episode completely changed genre lol. I find it amusing how the men that appear in the OP seem to be the antagonists in this story.

So I just watched 5 cute girls getting ready for their afternoon tea party and enjoying the said tea party while talking about stuff we have no idea about as well as trivial things like which goes on scones first for 19 minutes and it's probably one of the best-looking shows so far this season. GASHIN's character designs are really perfect for this cute and fluffy setting.

GASHIN's character designs are also perfect for absolute violence because holy shit! I did not expect to see some genocide there in the final scene! The OP was very upfront with us that the girls are going to be fighting middle-aged men but I didn't expect to see that amount of blood! I guess it really is fitting that they got Re:Zero's character designer in on this. xD

Anyway, I am absolutely intrigued and I already like all of the girls. So far my favourite is Abraliem with her calm and cool Onee-san vibes and of course our adorable MC who the show is named after, Arsnotoria. Misaki Kuno's voice just adds that extra cuteness that fits her character design. I can't wait to see how this show will escalate things from here!
